Antonia ZomboriAntonia ZomboriAntonia Zombori's black ceramics are hand-thrown, single burnt, glazeless clay articles ornamented by hand then smoked black. Each piece is throw on the potters wheel. After drying the surface of the pot is coated with a mixture of oil and water, thereby the surface softens a bit and is ready for decoration. The lustrous motif is burnished with a pebble and the pot is ready for a single firing. The resulting red finish is darkened to black by smoking. The pots are waterproofed on the interior but not food safe.
Heyward Cutting JrHeyward Cutting JrThese porcelain pieces will make a handsome addition to any kitchen or dining room. They are both decorative and functional, made of very fine vitreous and translucent porcelain: glazed with non-toxic materials. Use them to enhance any room, table setting or social gathering.
Jan JacqueJan Jacque"Reflections of Nature" is the phrase that best describes Jan's artwork in that she strives to achieve the essence of beauty that nature so elegantly displays. Clay subtly implies earth. Wood and plant images reflect growth of living things. Mirrors suggest water and sky. The final form results from Jan's careful balance of all these elements. The relationships Jan creates between clay, wood, and mirror are reminiscent of the delicate complexity of nature.
